Rashmi Ranjan Rout is a seasoned Senior Staff Software Engineer with over 16 years of experience in networking and embedded systems. Currently working at Fujitsu Network Communications, he specializes in c, c++, embedded c, Linux, VxWorks, and Network Switching/Routing Architecture. Rashmi has worked extensively on various layer 2 protocols like LACP, xSTP, ERP, VSRP, UDLD, and technologies such as MAC, VLAN Manager, LAG, Port Extender (IEEE802.1BR). He has also worked on QoS, ACL, Stacking Infrastructure, and Congestion Management. As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Fujitsu, Rashmi is responsible for the 1FINITY™ Switching Platforms that target 5G edge. He has worked on cloud control plane and microservices that run various routing services. Rashmi has also mentored a team delivering the platform Infrastructure, which includes managing open-source ZmQ and Pub-Sub infra. He has independently delivered a couple of network monitoring features and brought up the entire code base into a component-based system using the Yocto build and packaging system. Before joining Fujitsu, Rashmi worked as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Pluribus Networks, where he contributed towards simplifying the Software-Defined Data Center with a simple, dynamic, and secure Adaptive Cloud Fabric™ architecture. He was responsible for architecture and implementing many legacy and unavoidable networking protocol and technology which enabled the switch to be called a feature-rich network switch. Rashmi has also worked as a Software Engineer IV at Brocade, where he was responsible for the development and maintenance of Layer 2 Forwarding Path and Protocols. He was responsible for link aggregation and 802.1AX LACP Protocol and maintenance of Layer 2 Protocols like UDLD, xSTP, VSRP, MRP. Rashmi has a B.Tech degree from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha, and a PUC degree from M.P.C (Auto) College, Baripada. He is well-versed in C/C++, Python in Linux virtualized environments, and an expert in Layer2/Layer3 network protocol and data plane technology with an expert level exposure to Broadcom StrataXGS ASIC experience.
